Mobile applications require access to fast, reliable, and scalable services to provide features such as shared storage, user management, push notifications and social network integration. Azure Mobile Services provides a straightforward way to build these back-end services across several device types.

In this demo-heavy session, you'll see how to:

  • incorporate NoSQL database engines, specifically MongoDB and Neo4j, as the storage engine
  • Integrate Mobile Services with git to manage 3rd-party database drivers and node-based backend service scripts.
  • Build a mobile service compatible with multiple device types including iOS, Android, and Windows Phone

David Makogon has been a software creationist and architect for over 25 years. He’s currently a Senior Azure Architect at Microsoft, and has the dubious title of World’s First Former Azure MVP. David is also a member of the MongoDB Masters group, and spends lots of energy on Neo4j. Outside of computing, David is an avid photographer and family man, with a penchant for puns and an uncanny ability to read backwards.
