The variety of databases makes it difficult to select the best tool for a particular case. The unbiased investigations are rare—tests are often conducted by database vendors themselves. Unless you have implemented architectures that use both NoSQL databases that support data-intensive distributed applications and traditional RDBMS, then many technology options available are probably a slight enigma. This session focuses on real-world successful attempt to benchmark Couchbase, MongoDB, Cassandra, Riak, NuoDB, and MySQL cluster side by side using Amazon high-performance server configuration.
Attendees will learn: - How NoSQL databases differ from each other
- Benchmark test results
- Lessons learned about contender's strong and weak areas
- Peculiarities of AWS EC2 when working with different databases, challenges and things to avoid
