But NoSQL technologies are not ACID compliant. More and more users are discovering this limitation, and the consequence is that developers and DBAs must build complex workarounds.\nPostgres is leading the movement of integrating unstructured data with the enterprise database management system. Document database capabilities in Postgres advanced significantly with support for the JSON data type and the JSONB “binary JSON” type now in beta will propel the database forward significantlly. These advances follow the longstanding HStore data type added in 2006 to support key/value stores in Postgres. But unlike NoSQL-only solutions, a key-value store created in Postgres is ACID compliant. And PLV8 provides Javascript programming capabilities inside the database.\nLearning to harness these capabilities to master unstructured data challenges with Postgres will achieve lower costs, less risk and less complexity while supporting enterprise-class workloads with ACID compliance. This talk will help open the door to as better understanding of NoSQL technologies in Postgres and cover several scenarios for working with JSON in Postgres, as well as demonstrate performance metrics. The session will include:\nOverview of JSON data types and operators\nExamples of SELECT, UPDATE, etc\nExamination of performance considerations\nAnd more
