NoSQL is becoming mainstream as a viable alternative to relational databases, especially for Big Data applications. Everyday, more and more large enterprises recognize that operating at extreme scale is better achieved on clusters of standard, commodity, scale-out servers. Additionally, they are finding that a schema-less data model is often better for the variety and type of data captured and processed today.

This session will address how NoSQL is moving beyond grass roots developer deployments and into high scale, mission critical applications that drive competitive advantage. Bob will talk about how NoSQL can be used to improve business and application performance and reliability while reducing TCO.

Bob is the CEO of Couchbase, a leader in NoSQL databases. Prior to Couchbase, Bob served as Chairman, CEO and President of Transitive, the worldwide leader in cross platform virtualization, acquired by IBM in 2008. Bob held several executive management positions at Cadence, an electronic design automation company which he helped grow to over $1B during his 13 year tenure. From 1993 through 1996, Bob headed High Level Design Systems, an electronic design automation start-up that went public before being acquired by Cadence in 1996.
