The first light bulb joined the Internet in 2013, and by 2020 more than half of appliances and cars will have their own IP address. The Internet of Things is making our World exponentially smarter at a blinding rate. But all of those light bulbs are generating data – and it all adds up. How can Big Data technologies help us make sense of what our devices are telling us? This talk will focus on the Big Data challenges for a World where everything is online, all the time.
Daniel Austin is Founder and CEO of GRIN Technologies, Inc., a technology research and development firm in Silicon Valley focused on the Connected Life experience. He was most recently Principal Architect at PayPal and in past lives he's worked for organizations such as CERN, NASA, W3C, Sun, and Yahoo!
